🖌 Eligibility:

To maintain the integrity and level of competition, all participants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a registered artist at the All American Tattoo Convention
  • Must hold a valid tattoo license in accordance with local/state regulations
  • Must be able to complete a tattoo within the designated competition timeframe
  • Must supply or arrange for a client/canvas
  • Must agree to all event rules, judging criteria, and safety standards

🔍 Competition Details:

To ensure a fair, high-level competition, all artists must adhere to the following structure:

Blind Design Reveal

The official tattoo design (linework stencil) will be revealed at the start of the competition.
No artist will have prior access to the design — ensuring a true test of skill, adaptability, and execution.

Placement Requirements

All tattoos must be completed on a lower extremity of a live model provided by the artist. Acceptable areas include: arms and legs only. Models must be 18+ and able to remain for the full duration of the competition.

Design Specifications

The provided design will be a standardized 6×6-inch flash piece. Artists may apply individual style and technique, but the tattoo must remain clearly recognizable to the original design.

Time Limit

Artists will have 4 hours to complete their tattoo. At the end of the 4-hour mark, all work must stop immediately. Artists may take breaks at their discretion; however, the 4-hour time limit will not be paused for any reason.

Competition Time

The Tattoo Battle will take place during the All American Tattoo Convention:

⚙️ Supplies & Setup:

  • All artists are responsible for providing their own equipment and supplies.
  • All participants must have a fully operational and compliant tattoo setup, including adherence to all local health and safety regulations.
  • Stations must be fully set up prior to the start of the convention on Friday, including completion of any required health department inspection.

🧑‍⚖️ Public Voting & Winner Selection

The All American Tattoo Battle is decided by the people. This is a crowd-powered competition, where every vote supports a greater cause.

How Voting Works

  • All completed tattoos will be professionally photographed and displayed anonymously
  • No artist names will be shown during voting to ensure a fair and unbiased process
  • Voting will take place in person only at the designated contest table

Cast Your Vote

  • Each vote is $1 per entry
  • Attendees may vote as many times as they like
  • All proceeds from voting will be donated to support veterans

How the Winner is Chosen

The tattoo with the highest number of votes will be crowned the
All American Tattoo Battle Champion. Winner will be announced on Sunday during the convention.
